The countertops made of acrylic cabinet panels mainly come in two types on the market: pure acrylic countertops and composite acrylic countertops.

The composite acrylic countertop is made from a blend of high-quality unsaturated resin and MMA, modified with the addition of ultrafine aluminum hydroxide as a filler. Through vacuum casting, it forms artificial stone with excellent toughness, capable of resisting significant temperature variations without cracking.

Maintenance Methods for Acrylic Countertops

▣ Keep dry and avoid bleach

Keep the countertop dry to prevent discoloration caused by bleach and mineral deposits in water, which may affect its appearance.

▣ Regular cleaning and scale removal

Regularly clean the countertop with soapy water or a cleaning agent containing ammonia (such as dishwashing liquid). For water scale, wipe it off with a damp cloth and then dry with a clean cloth.

Avoid high temperatures and sharp objects

Avoid placing hot items such as hot pots or kettles directly on the countertop; it is best to use a pot rack. Additionally, refrain from using sharp objects to touch the countertop during operation to prevent scratches.

▣ Prevent chemical contact

Prevent the direct contact of corrosive chemicals with the countertop, and avoid impact from heavy or sharp objects.

▣ Promptly repair cracks

Promptly repair countertop cracks to prevent partial rotting of the cabinet. If water seeps into the cabinet or backing board through the cracks, prolonged exposure will cause rotting, compromise countertop support, and even lead to bacterial or insect infestation. Therefore, cracks should be repaired immediately, sealed with glue to prevent moisture damage, thereby extending the lifespan of the acrylic cabinet panels.

▣ Remove white light stains

To remove light white stains, gently wipe the surface with cooking oil and a dry cloth, then dry it. Next, use a damp cloth and soapy water for cleaning. If the stains are difficult to remove, it may indicate that the countertop has been soaked. In such cases, seek professional assistance to eliminate the stains through sanding and waxing.
