Here are the steps to make rounded corners on the joints of acrylic countertops:

1.Tool preparation

Use a stone cutter or CNC equipment to accurately cut the board to ensure that the joints are flat.

Prepare acrylic glue, F-type clamps or heavy objects for pressure.

2.Cutting and chamfering

Measure and mark the board accurately before cutting. Water jet cutting can reduce edge collapse.

After cutting, use fine sandpaper to chamfer the edges at 45° to facilitate close jointing.

3.Jointing and pressurization

Double-sided glue: Apply evenly on both sides of the joint, with a thickness of about 1-2mm.

After splicing, use F-type clamps or heavy objects for pressure to ensure that the glue is fully cured.

Cure with ultraviolet light or room temperature and wait for the glue to dry completely.

4.Fine grinding

Use coarse to fine sandpaper to grind the surface until it is smooth, and the grinding angle is 30° to reduce scratches.

Water grinding can avoid dust. The recommended grinding order is 80 mesh (remove glue marks) → 220 mesh (coarse grinding) → 400 mesh (fine grinding) → 800 mesh (fine grinding) → 3000 mesh (pre-polishing treatment).

5.Polishing

Use a wool wheel with cerium oxide polishing paste at a speed of 2500-3000rpm.

Apply stone protective agent after polishing to enhance anti-fouling ability.

Use high-mesh polishing agent to restore gloss and make the joints invisible to the naked eye.
